Kristie Hanke, a Louisville native, wears many hats including the wife of 16 years to her husband Craig and mom to 11-year-old twins Max and Calli. She is currently serving the community as a pediatric speech-language pathologist (SLP) as well as a life coach for women. Even from a young age, Kristie was driven to encourage and inspire others.

Kristie is the oldest of four girls in her family and her youngest sister, Samantha, is the sole reason she found interest in the career of being an SLP. Samantha was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate and endured several corrective surgeries over the years.  Watching her sister’s SLP support her parents during this journey inspired Kristie to pursue her career in speech-language pathology so that she could positively impact the children and families in parenting and communicating with a child with special needs.

You can find Kristie practicing yoga, listening to podcasts while walking her dog or pushing herself to new limits at a local boot camp class. She has been involved in cheer, volleyball, and softball most of her young adult life, but has never participated in formal dance training. Kristie is thrilled to learn ballroom dancing, as this has always been an interest. The opportunity to participate in Dancing with the Prospect Stars while also being able to support a charity close to her heart is a once in a lifetime experience!

Kristie has chosen to partner with Carriage House Educational Services, a local non-profit preschool program dedicated to the belief that children of all abilities can learn and make progress in an environment that is stimulating and nurturing and where individual differences are respected and celebrated. Their program offers services including traditional preschool and a specialized preschool specifically for children diagnosed with Autism ages 2-6.  They also offer therapeutic intervention for children ages 0-6.

Kristie’s purpose in life is to help people find their voice and to live a life they were created to live. Kristie models this purpose in her own life by living life to the fullest as she participates in Dancing with the Prospect Stars.
