After Damian completed his music degree in 2000, he decided to take Salsa lessons and soon began competing in the 9 American style dances. A good friend asked Damian to take Salsa lessons with her at Arthur Murray Dance Studios. After his partner retired to start a family after the 2006 Nationals, Damian continued to dance with several partners in both American Rhythm and Smooth Styles with the hopes of returning to the 9-Dance stage once again.
“Dancing has just become a way of life for me, I don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t dance everyday’. ‘I love the challenge of working toward the next competition and breaking down each dance.”
Damian owns his own business, called FischerSIPS, where he’s involved in manufacturing energy efficient building materials.
